Exercise training takes a more focused and prioritized approach depending on your wellness goal, personal need, fitness level, functional ability, and medical condition and will be the essence of your exercise prescription and exercise program. The exercise routines will be most effective when performed consistently and safely under guidance of your health and fitness professional. The benefits of exercise can help you better manage and treat a chronic medical condition, improve muscle strength, boost muscle power and endurance, and improve bone health, reduce back pain or reduce arthritis pain, improve lipid levels, improve blood pressure, enhance blood glucose uptake, improve health and fitness.
Mobility is a critical component of your health, longevity and essential for continued independent living. Structured and progressive exercise with multisensory training and activities are proven to enhance seated, standing and/or moving balance. Your exercise prescription may include; exercises that enhance postural stability and center of gravity control, exercises that optomize visual, somatosensory and vestibular feedback, gait pattern enhancement training, and thus reduce the risk factors for falling and injury.
In-home exercise training is particularly important for the individual with a reduced immune system that needs to prevent infection. A high level of supervision with exercise is also provided for the individual with memory challenges.
